Day 221 – Film Noir Fionn

I’ve been experimenting with flash and camera angles today on my unsuspecting subject Fionn the dog! She must’ve been wondering what all the flashes were but thankfully didn’t try to eat the camera too much! Anyway I like the kind of film noir effect the bounced flash had, I just need to work out how to get the same for humans, and on location.

Film Noir quotes of the day:

The Big Sleep
Humphrey Bogart regarding Lauren Bacall: She was worth a stare. She was trouble.

Clash by Night
Barbara Stanwyck: Last time I looked, you had a wife.
Robert Ryan: Maybe next time you look, I won’t.
Barbara Stanwyck: That’s what they all say.

Clash by Night
Barbara Stanwych to Keith Andes: What do you want, Joe, my life history? Here it is in four words: big ideas, small results.

The Big Combo
Cornell Wilde: It happens to be against two laws. God’s and man’s. I’m booking her on the second.

Casablanca
Humphrey Bogart: I came to Casablanca for the waters.
Claude Rains: But we’re in the middle of the desert.
Humphrey Bogart: I was misinformed.
