Day 194 – Freaky Friday

Here are some quotes about fear and what scares us:

All the ancient classic fairy tales have always been scary and dark.
Helena Bonham Carter

Everybody in their own imagination decides what scary is.
Yvonne Craig

Everyone is different. Sometimes it’s very exciting; sometimes very scary.
Emanuel Ax

There is not a truth existing which I fear… or would wish unknown to the whole world.
Thomas Jefferson

If people are good only because they fear punishment, and hope for reward, then we are a sorry lot indeed.
Albert Einstein

We gain strength, and courage, and confidence by each experience in which we really stop to look fear in the face… we must do that which we think we cannot.
Eleanor Roosevelt

Day 94 –

Err ya, if you think the picture is strange you should’ve seen what happened after it! Anyway bit random but it was one of the only pics I took all day so it goes into the blog. Was it a strange day to go with the picture, probably! But it can be good to do stuff out of routine I think.

Definition:

2. a. Out of the ordinary; unusual or striking.b. Differing from the normal.3. Not of one’s own or a particular locality, environment, or kind; exotic.4. a. Reserved in manner; distant.b. Not comfortable or at ease; constrained.5. Not accustomed or conditioned: She was strange to her new duties.6. Archaic Of, relating to, or characteristic of another place or part of the world; foreign.

Quotes:

“The function of the imagination is not to make strange things settled, so much as to make settled things strange” – G. K. Chesterton

“I have learned silence from the talkative, toleration from the intolerant, and kindness from the unkind; yet, strange, I am ungrateful to those teachers” – Kahlil Gibran

“Taken out of context I must seem so strange” – Ani Difranco

“Strange is our situation here upon earth. Each of us comes for a short visit, not knowing why, yet sometimes seeming to a divine purpose. From the standpoint of daily life, however, there is one thing we do know: That we are here for the sake of others…for the countless unknown souls with whose fate we are connected by a bond of sympathy. Many times a day, I realize how much my outer and inner life is built upon the labors of people, both living and dead, and how earnestly I must exert myself in order to give in return as much as I have received” – Albert Einstein

“Strange how a teapot can represent at the same time, the comforts of solitude and the pleasures of company” – Zen Haiku

Isn’t it weird.
Isn’t it strange.
Even though we’re just two strangers on this runaway train
We’re both trying to find a place in the sun
We’ve lived in the shadows, but doesn’t everyone
Isn’t it strange how we all feel a little bit weird sometimes
– Hanson

Day 5

Funny inspiration for today’s photograph. I went out for a kick around, a death lap and a smoothie around lunchtime with a friend of mine and when I got back I looked at the clock, it was 5.37pm!! The saying is true, time flies when you’re having fun, but it got me thinking about how time actually does pass so quickly. Hence a picture of watches for this blog!

So ya I’m sure you’ve all got the forwarded emails ‘Live like there’s no tomorrow, dance like there’s no one watching, love like you’ve never been hurt’, possibly good advice, though maybe a bit idealistic. (If you lived like there was no tomorrow for very long, you’ll be right, very soon!)

Today did give me a bit of a shock though, when you think it’s about 4pm and suddenly realise its 5.37pm it can be a little disconcerting! It kinda does get you thinking of a lot of things, though even that might be dangerous. How much thinking is too much, when should you stop thinking and start doing, no matter how ill-prepared you are? There are hundreds of questions I could ask similar to that one but few non-refutable answers.

Anyway here are a few quotes about time:

Jeffery Deaver “We have years to converse with someone, to blurt and rant, to explain our desires and anger and regrets – and oh how we squander those moments”

Ecclesiastes 3:1 “To everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under the sun”

Albert Einstein “The only reason for time is so that everything doesn’t happen at once.”

Henry Van Dkye Time is too slow for those who wait, Too swift for those who fear, Too long for those who grieve, Too short for those who rejoice, But for those who love, time is Eternity”

Anyway time to log off! Haha get it? Ok whatever…
