Hi all!

Just a quick update, with moving countries and the subsequent change in circumstances I’ve put the 365 Portrait Project on hold. I still intend to focus on portraits in my photography, just not in such a regulated project!

In the absence of blogging I’ve been keeping busy by integrated my old website and this blog into a new website. Going forward I can be found at Marie Keating Photography which will hopefully be a marked improvement!

Thanks for all your support, advice and comments during the first 2 years of my blog and 365 projects, it’s been an interesting experience!

Marie 🙂

Merry Christmas and New Year!

Wow this year has absolutely flown, it seems like only yesterday I was home in Ireland and got the idea for starting the 365 project. And while its been hectic at times, still really worthwhile. On that note I’ll sign off for Christmas and wish everyone a happy, safe, and no doubt merry festive season! The blog updates will be back with a bang after Christmas!

Let Christmas not become a thing
Merely of merchant’s trafficking,
Of tinsel, bell and holly wreath
And surface pleasure, but beneath
The childish glamour, let us find
Nourishment for soul and mind.
Let us follow kinder ways
Through our teeming human maze,
And help the age of peace to come
From a Dreamer’s martyrdom.

Last week of college…

Posted: December 4, 2010 in General

…and assignments …and stress …will have the blog fully updated very soon!

Here’s some humour though:

Last week a friend of mine went to a seminar called *Stress and Disease by Dr. Nickolas Hall, an expert in psychobiology. He gave an example of a coping skill for job stress that I would like to share with you.

When you have had one of those TAKE THIS JOB AND SHOVE IT days, try this. On your way home after work, stop at your pharmacy and go to the section where they have thermometers. You will need to purchase a rectal thermometer made by *Q-Tip. Be very sure that you get this brand.

When you get home, lock your doors, draw the drapes, and disconnect the phone so you will not be disturbed during your therapy. Change to very comfortable clothing, such as a sweat suit and lie down on your bed. Open the package containing the thermometer and remove the thermometer and carefully place it on the bedside table so that it will not become chipped or broken.

Take the written material that accompanies the thermometer and as you read it you will notice in small print the statement that *every rectal thermometer made by Q-Tip is PERSONALLY tested.

Now close your eyes and say out loud five times, ‘I am so glad that I do not work in quality control at the Q-Tip Company.

Happy Christmas!

Happy Christmas and New Year to all. I haven’t posted in a while, due to a mixture of jet lag (from being home in Ireland!) and being busy with catch-up and Christmas drinks!

The weather has been cold in Ireland, some say it was -7C last night, but fantastic for pictures. Now if I could only get out from beside the fire to take some! And now that the jet lag is almost subsided I hope to get cracking on it.

Event 1 on the agenda is the Killeedy GAA Long Puck competition starting in Raheenagh at 12pm on St. Stephen’s Day. Check out http://www.keating18.com and http://www.killeedy.com in the following weeks for photos!

On tonight for anyone interested! Raffles College, 99 Mount St, North Sydney. Free drink and nibbles if the fantastic photography, graphic design, fashion design, etc.. doesn’t tempt ya!

Welcome December

Well, first post of the summer (winter to all in the Northern Hemisphere suckers!…just kidding!) I haven’t been taking much shots in the last few days as there has been a lot going on. I’ve been killing, and hiding from, a multitude of aggressive flying cockroaches, christmas beatles, massive spiders and potential mice who are all seeking refugee in my room. In my spare time from that I’ve been finishing my visual diaries for college, beering with the Nordies and listening to Tiger Wood’s voicemails. Hectic to say the least.

Anyway last college assignment due tomorrow so major work in photography and updating website due after that, stay tuned (or whatever the equivalent internet phrase is) !!

Hello world!

Well I have decided to enter the world of blogging! It all looks very interesting but its lunchtime and I’m starving and I have some of yesterday’s pizza in my lunch box. I’ll come back soon and properly update on this!

Over and Out for now,
