Day 112 – I beg your pardon (I never promised you a rose garden)

Well today’s title has nothing to do with the day, only the fact that I’ve been listening to the song with the same name!

Some snipets:

I do my thing and you do yours. I am not in this world to live up to your expectations, and you are not in this world to live up to mine. You are you and I am I, and if by chance we find each other, then it is beautiful. If not, it can’t be helped – Frederick Peris

Expecting the world to treat you fairly because you are a good person is a little like expecting a bull not to attack you because you are a vegetarian – Dennis Wholey

Nobody succeeds beyond his or her wildest expectations unless he or she begins with some wild expectations – Ralph Charell

The longer we live, and the more we think, the higher value we learn to put on the friendship and tenderness of parents and friends. Parents we can have but once; and he promises himself too much, who enters life with the expectation of finding many – Samuel Johnson

For one to expect or ask things of others that he himself, if asked, would not be willing to do or give, is the worst kind of arrogance – Anthony Beal

Mrs. Joe was a very clean housekeeper, but had an exquisite art of making her cleanliness more uncomfortable and unacceptable than dirt itself – Charles Dickens, Great Expectations
