Day 65 – Through a Mirror, Doubley

I’m still a bit busy with finishing college stuff this week and next so have just taken a photo on the mobile for the blog while studying. Not a whole lot of pre-thought went into the taking of the picture so I may have to fit the words to suit the picture, rather than the picture to suits the words, or idea, as was the idea of the blog!

The picture is a bit cubist as it shows two different views of the same person, i.e. me! It kinda reminds me of a before and after picture and has got me thinking of how my personality has changed over the last few years, or maybe not changed just brought to the fore, or maybe not changed much at all! Anyway its good to reflect sometimes. I think most of what happens in our life, the good and especially the bad, we pass it off at the time as something that won’t change me, or something that ‘won’t kill me, make me stronger’ type of outlook. But when we look back, have we really learned from our varied experiences to the point where we can see today where we have become a better person because of them? Or has life continued in one vicious circle where we never objectively look at situations in our lives in order to positively shape our future decisions?

We had an interesting lecture today all about Freud and Jung and psychoanalysis and how most people don’t actively reflect on the dark sides of their own lives. Not necessarily saying murderers don’t reflect on their fatal deeds, but ordinary people looking at anything negative in their own lives. It’s quite interesting, and although I don’t agree with a lot of what either psychanalysist has to say, reflection is good.

Oh and today’s picture is also a reflection, ha i mean the photoshoot was so planned to fit the thoughts of my day! Ahem!

Quote of the day: We live in deeds, not years; in thoughts, not breaths; in feelings, not in figures on the dial; we should count time by heart-throbs. He most lives who thinks most, feels the noblest, acts the best. -Bailey
